Riesling's allure over other white wine is the necessary precision and attention to detail that goes into making this wonderfully versatille noble grape as well as maintaining its racy acidity and interestingly complex flavor profile.
Winemaker Bruce McGuire creates his Dry Riesling from grapes sourced exclusively from the Lafond Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. A unique blend of calcium rich marine sediment and river deposited soil contributes to the fruit’s well-developed minerality.
McGuire limits the sugar levels, and uses stainless steel fermentation to highlight the bright fruit in this dry Riesling.
Winemaker Comments: The 2018 Riesling was fermented totally dry and aged sur lie in stainless steel tanks with occassional batonnage. What resulted is a crisp and fragrant wine that makes a great aperitif and pairs well with Thai food.
Tasting Notes: The 2018 Sta. Rita Hills Dry Riesling is pale-straw in color with platinum reflections. Aromas of bright lemon, lychee and lily meet flavors of honeysuckle, green papaya, and wet slate. This medium-bodied Riesling has bright acidity and pairs beautifully with spicy Thai food, fresh prawns, or fried chicken.
