Veraison, the coloring of red wine grapes, has begun in our Pinot Noir blocks. This is catnip for birds and already we are seeing some damage. Next week, after hedging the vines, we will begin netting the vineyard and these will not be removed until harvest. The photo shows veraison in progress.
